Gerri received her BS degree in Human Nutrition and Food Service Management from the University of Nebraska at  Lincoln.  She moved to Houston for her internship and MS degree in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University and she never went back.  Over the years she has worked as a clinical dietitian at two of the Memorial Hermann Hospitals, The Methodist Hospital Preventative Medicine Program, and most recently at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Humble.


Her professional interests have been working in weight management and elderly nutrition, staying active in the professional organization and keeping current in nutrition topics.


She now is semi-retired and enjoys working PRN at HealthSouth, traveling, trying new recipes with foods she has to look up on the internet to see what they look like, and then of course, taking advantage of the great restaurant scene in Houston.  She said she tries her best to practice good self control!

Past President  Shweta Misra

Mansoora grew up in Houston, graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science. She completed her dietetic internship and MS in Clinical Nutrition at Texas Woman’s University. Mansoora started her dietetic career in Corporate Wellness with Rediclinics. She has passion for nutrition support and has worked in the Critical Care units at Kingwood Medical Center, Houston Methodist Willowbrook and CHI St Lukes Hospital. She currently works at Houston Methodist The Woodlands as Clinical Nutrition Manager.  She enjoys spending time outdoors with her two little boys. She has served on several Board positions in The Greater North Houston Dietetic Association. She is excited to take on challenge of serving as President of GNHDA this year, to bring more awareness and enthusiasm to the field of dietetics! 

Frances is a graduate of Dietetics from Louisiana Tech University.  Now retired, she previously served as a Clinical

Dietitian and Food Service Director of Knollwood Park Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.  In 1995, she moved to Kingwood and was employed as Chief Clinical Dietitian at Kingwood Hospital..  She continues to serve in an advisory capacity on the Board of Greater North Houston DA.  She now enjoys delivering Meals on Wheels, gardening and learning to fly fish with her husband.

 Leilani Bayer is a registered and Texas licensed dietitian, a native Texan, and an eighteen year resident of The Woodlands, TX.  Leilani is a lifelong learner - she holds a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University (1987), a BS in Food Science and Nutrition from Sam Houston State University (2013), and an MS in Food Science and Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University (2014).  Leilani is an experienced nutrition educator in a variety of subjects including nutrition for dancers, healthy eating on a budget, reading and understanding food labels, the benefits of probiotics, and  food security/ hunger awareness.  Leilani is passionate about helping Texans achieve their food and nutrition-related healthy living goals. Her ideal job would include nutrition counseling with a cooking demonstration followed by a grocery store tour. Leilani is an active member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Greater North Houston Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is serving a second year as GNHDA’s treasurer in 2017-2018.  Her professional interests are those of food security, hunger awareness, cultural competency/sensitivity, public policy, integrative medicine, weight management, and nutrition education.

Kristen Wright was born and raised in Houston and is a proud Aggie.  Whoop! After completing her BS in Nutritional Sciences at Texas A&M University, she completed her dietetic internship through Aramark Healthcare at Methodist Willowbrook hospital from September 2015- May 2016. She became an RD in July of 2016 and started her career as a Clinical Dietitian at Methodist Willowbrook hospital. Kristen is now pursuing her CDE certification and hopes to complete her exam later next year. She was previously involved as a committee member for the Houston Diabetes Step Out Walk and Expo in  2016 and is currently working with the ADA on a planning committee for a diabetes symposium set to take place early next year. In her spare time, Kristen loves to travel and enjoys exploring new places. She is  currently hospitality chair and webmaster for the GNHDA 2017-2018 year.

Kendall is a native of Brenham, Texas and completed a BS in Food Science and Nutrition as well as a MS Dietetics and Dietetic Internship of Sam Houston State University. She is currently employed in the Texas Medical Center at Ben Taub Hospital, where she covers Neurosurgery ICU, Surgical IMU, and home TPN infusion. She is on the nutrition support team for Ben Taub and also serves as the dietetic internship coordinator. She became a CNSC this year and spends most of her days on patients requiring nutrition support. She is a proud Houston Astros Shooting Star, the cheer team supporting the Houston Astros. She is an avid triathlete but after having shoulder surgery this summer is focusing on training for her first full marathon. She has served for several years as the newsletter editor for GNHDA and this year is serving as the President-Elect.

Sandra Filipp grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated undergrad at the University of Illinois and completed her dietetic internship at The Ohio State University.  During college she held multiple summer internships, both clinical and within the food industry.  Her passion to develop healthier products in the food industry shaped her career path as a product developer.  In Chicago she worked with Kraft Foods and then Kraft Heinz on multiple brands including Philadelphia, Cracker Barrel, Kraft Cheese, and Breakstone's.  Last year she relocated to Houston and was fortunate to land a position working as an R&D team leader at HEB, which includes product development and regulatory work. Outside of work, Sandra enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, cooking, baking, and attending Astros games! She loves spending time with family, and she is continually planning her next visits to see her nieces and nephew.
